UNDERSTANDING ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Energy efficiency in windows and doors has been making a larger impact in recent years.
There are more benefits to reducing your company’s energy consumption other than cost cuts, it also improves comfort around the home, by reducing harmful emissions to the environment.
Through fusion welding, glass types, and weather insulation, Unisson groupe helps maximize its energy efficiency. For optimal thermal performance and the lowest U-Value available, we use the ClimaGuard system.
What is Energy Star?
Energy Star is a joint program between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Canadian Department of Energy, its purpose is to protect the environment by mandating energy efficient products and practices.
Understanding the Energy Star performance markers: U-Factor
The U-Factor represents the amount of energy a material can conduct. In terms of our products (Windows & Doors), the lower the U-Factor, the stronger the resistance to heat loss. Meaning the lower your U-Factor is, the more money you save on heating.
Solar Heat Gain
A Solar Heat Gain is a co-efficient, measuring the amount of solar radiation transmitted through a material.
Air Leakage
Air Leakage is a measurement of the air passing through portes in the window, affecting heat losses and heat gain. The lower the Air Leakage rating, the better the insulation of your window.
Energy Rating
Energy Ratings is calculated with a combined analysis of the Solar Heat Gain, air leakage & heat loss.
